Romy is 10 years old, but she considers herself much smarter than her grandmother, the owner of the barber shop, with whom the girl is bored. However, she is forced to spend a lot of time with her 69-year-old grandmother, after Romy's mother finds overtime work. The girl would rather live with a cheerful father who drives her in the front seat, takes her to the movies and a Chinese restaurant, but he has a new wife. Romy's strained relationship with her strict grandmother gradually changes when the heroine learns the family history and realizes that old people also know how to surprise. Struck by her grandmother's extravagances, Romy begins to feel adult responsibility for a loved one and enters the role of the future hostess of the salon.
